Frequently asked questions
Questions, answered.
The common questions about physiotherapy, insurance, and what to expect at Station.
-
Everyone, from kids to active seniors. We treat sports injuries, back and neck pain, post-surgical recovery, ICBC and WorkSafeBC claims, pelvic health, dizziness and balance issues, and complex cases that haven’t responded elsewhere. If you’re not sure we’re the right fit, just call and ask.
-
No. You can book directly online or by phone. Some extended health plans ask for a referral before they’ll reimburse you, so it’s worth checking your specific plan.

Yes, we direct bill most major extended health plans, so you usually pay only your portion at the visit. We also handle ICBC and WorkSafeBC claims directly.
-
Yes, we're an approved provider for both. Within 12 weeks of a motor-vehicle accident, ICBC pre-approves 25 physiotherapy and 12 kinesiology sessions. No referral, no approval to chase, and no user fee. We bill ICBC directly, so you pay nothing at the desk. Most people don't realize the kinesiology sessions are a separate entitlement, so ask and we'll set both up together. If WorkSafeBC has accepted your claim, treatment is fully covered and billed directly too.

A 45-minute one-on-one assessment in a private room: a real conversation about your history and goals, a hands-on assessment to pinpoint the cause, a clear explanation of what's going on, and the start of a plan built around you.
-
Initial assessments are 45 minutes. Follow-ups are 30, with extended 45-minute visits available at a higher rate when you need more time. How many you'll need depends on your injury and your goals. We will give you an honest estimate after your first assessment, not an open-ended package. And our goal is always to discharge you, better. We don't string people along.

Something you can move in so gym clothes or loose layers. Treating a knee? Shorts help. Forgot? We've got you.
-
Physiotherapists assess, diagnose, and treat injuries using hands-on techniques, IMS, and exercise. Kinesiologists focus on active rehab and exercise programming to rebuild strength and movement, often once you’re past the early treatment phase. Many clients benefit from both.
-
Both use fine needles. IMS (dry needling) targets tight muscle bands to release tension and is grounded in Western anatomy. Acupuncture follows traditional points to influence pain and function. Your therapist will recommend whichever suits your case.
-
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule so we can offer the time to someone else. Late cancellations and missed appointments are charged at 50% of the visit fee, to the card we hold on file.
